L'immigration massive est néfaste pour l'économie. Ce n'est pas moi qui le dit, c'est la Bank of England:
Mass migration has driven down the wages of millions of British workers, the Bank of England has revealed.
The influx from Eastern Europe and elsewhere into catering, hotels and social care jobs has led to an average two per cent pay cut for many low-skilled staff, its research shows.
As a result some of the least well-off British workers are losing hundreds of pounds a year.
Stephen Nickell, co-author of the report, said: ‘The biggest effect is in the semi/unskilled services sector, where a ten percentage point rise in the proportion of immigrants is associated with a 2 per cent reduction in pay.’
Mr Nickell, a member of the Office for Budget Responsibility, said the proportion of immigrants working in all occupations has continued to grow since the mid-1990s, but it has been most dramatic in low-skilled occupations.
The report says immigration has a ‘significant negative impact on pay’, with the lowest-paid suffering most.
